War Is Hell

There is a saying that war is hell. I now know why. And just when I thought I have seen the worst of things, it got a whole lot worse.

In case you don't know, stories about my platoon:

Lima Company HQ focuses on helping anxious families
Lima Company Hit Hard By Fighting

I'm praying for you guys. I am so, so sorry about what happened. May God protect you and keep you in His shelter of His everlasting arms! My heart almost stopped when I read all about it. I can't even imagine and don't want to. But words won't describe the pain I feel for you guys nor the respect I have.

James, there are few words of comfort to offer, only the assurance that there is a Father in Heaven who knows your name and sees what you are going through, more intimately than any one of us could ever know, nor in ways which you could explain.

Lean on Him during this time...He's the only source that'll get you through.

Roger that my friend. We are proud of you and your Marines' success with the Matador mission. I appreciate your valiance fighting our brutal enemy in a foreign land so that my son may grow up in relative safety in our beloved land. I and my family are in your debt. You are an honor to the USMC. Godspeed my friend, we'll see you soon.

Jim, Jenny and Ezekiel B.

P.S. Keep their heads ringin'!

G'day James, I didn't realise how bad it had been ....mate, my thoughts are with you (....I had noticed the time between blogs)

This worried me as a sign that things were pretty busy but has obviously been far worse than we could have imagined.

I truly hope you are safe and your buddies are ok. Take care ....just take care.

I discovered your blog early last week, just before we heard about Operation Matador. My son has a friend in Lima Co., so we've been following the news anxiously. You're all in our thoughts and prayers.

James, I am so sorry about what happened. I can't say that I know how you feel but I definately agree with Joel. the Lord is a pillar of strenght that we can lean on...take advantage of that strength. You let them all know that they have a bunch of us here in Springfield that are praying for a safe return home. I am really proud of you bro...keep up the fight.
